This is my final piece, i decided to go with out the black boxes as i think it looks better without.
At the beginning of the assignment we were asked to take pictures in rule of thirds, urban juxtaposition, typefaces and finally we analyzed exhibition posters to practice for different techniques for the final image. The most difficult thing i had to do was create 10 different urban juxtaposition pictures. the problems i encountered were how to create an urban juxtaposition image, i solved this issue by creating my own juxtaposed images.
Throughout all the trial and errors i worked out which typefaces worked best for my poster. I decided overall that script would suit my final image best. I decided I would use script as my type face as it is best suited for my poster as the theme is about advertising an exhibition. The typeface script is modern and engaging however not to formal/informal.
I chose this image for my final piece because I think it shows urban juxtaposition clearly. I think this because there is the national history museum, London, in the background. The building has an attractive look because it has line where the windows are and many different tones all over such as the bright/warm colours of the merry-go-round furthermore the building is strong and majestic, it boldly shows dark, low key tones and shadow which exaggerate on the buildings authority.
Rule of thirds isn't clearly shown in my poster however you could say that it is because the merry-go-round is on the second horizontal line.
Through out the whole project have have developed many skills such as learning how to work "illustrator". I also learnt skills such as different photography techniques and methods to make my work more attractive and appealing to the viewer.
